Research Development Cell
There is a recent inception of the Research and Development (R & D) Cell of Manoharbhai Patel College of
Arts, Commerce and Science, Sadak Arjuni, in the month of August. This cell has been especially established
to promote the research among faculty and the students of the college. It will be the persistent endeavor of
this cell to encourage research activities in ensuing time. It aims at nurturing the habit of research and
inquisitive spirit among students. It will play the pivotal role of making students aware about the field of
research. It will encourage students to undertake research in the field in which there are immense
possibilities of research. It will place its onus on interdisciplinary research which is the need of hour. It
will also be the major function of this cell to encourage students to participate in different seminars,
conferences, workshops, projects which are particularly research oriented. Besides, the cell will try to seek
out possibilities of research problems which are virgin and still untouched in the local vicinity majorly in
the field of agriculture and other local issues which need to be addressed. The Research and Development Cell
in particularly aims at imbibing research culture and foster research oriented attitude among students. The
Cell will function under the able guidance of Dr. Chetankumar B. Masram & Mr. Ramdas N. Huse, Department
of Chemistry.
Aim and Objective
Aim
- To inculcate and nurture research culture among faculty members and students.
- To promote research through a range of publications, technology developments, patents, and other forms
of IPR.
- To contribute in nation building by innovative quality research in the field of humanities, science and
technology.
Objective
- To nurture research culture among faculty members and students of the College.
- To create awareness and promote the aspiring students and faculty members to carry out research in the
field of science and humanities by providing necessary facilities and infrastructures required for them.
- To create environment among the staff members to take up Research projects and help them to improve
their research skills.
- To encourage staff members and students to publish research papers in National and reputed
International Conferences/ Journals.
- To identify and inform faculty members, about the research opportunities introduced by different
academic, research, industry or government organisations.
- To assist faculty for applying the projects offered by agencies such as UGC, ICSSR, DST, DBT etc.
- To encourage and guide faculty members for getting funds for conducting Seminar/Workshop/FDP on research
related issues and intellectual property rights.
- To inspire researchers to contribute in the advancement of knowledge for the benefit of society.

RDC Committee’s Role Assignment
Research advisory committee (RAC) looks after the composition of Committees and overall governance of the RDC
Committee – 1: Finance and Infrastructure
- Finance management
- CSR funds for sustenance of research activities
- To communicate with funding agencies
- To create organizational Funding for publications and patent.
Committee – 2: Research Programs, Policy Development
- Research promotion and guidance
- To organize seminars, conferences, workshops, trainings programmes, and group discussions etc.
- To plan policies for identifying incentives for faculty involved in research
